Lynn (Lucy Lurline) Foote McKinstry passed away on June 13, 2019 at her residence in Fairhope, Alabama with the loving support and care of her family.

She was born April 4, 1937 in Houston, Texas.

She graduated from St. Agnes Academy, Houston, Texas in 1955. She attended Spring Hill College, William and Mary College and graduated from the University of Houston in 1967 with a bachelor of arts in English. In 1974, she graduated with a masters of arts in early childhood education from the University of South Alabama.

Lynn was an Army wife for 20 years and taught for over 25 years.

She was also director of an Early Childhood Center for several years. Lynn was an Ecclesial Lay Minister in the Archdioceses of Mobile and along with her loving husband, Tom, served as a Senior Presenting Team for Catholic Engaged Encounter for the Archdiocese of Mobile for over 30 years. As a couple, they also held leadership positions in the Cursillo movement and many other diocesan and parish activities.

Lynn was passionate about her faith and her family, and she enjoyed reading, painting and being around the water.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lynda Watson (Mike) of Houston, Texas and Kathy Zoghby (Alex) of Mobile; six grandchildren, Jessica Cuthbert (Brian), Melissa Watson, Taylor Watson (Tia), Garrett Zoghby (Katie), Stephen Zoghby and Caroline Zoghby; great-granddaughters, Emma Cuthbert, Mary Hyland Zoghby and Cecilia Zoghby; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lt. Col Thomas I. McKinstry (Ret.); her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Foote Jr. of Houston, Texas; and brothers, Stephen A. Foote III, Joseph Garrett Foote, William Houston Foote and John Travis Foote all of Houston, Texas; and sisters, Lillian Foote Tigard of Sugar Land, Texas and Mary Jo Foote Endlich of Lancashire, England.

Special thanks to her devoted and loving caregivers, Beverly Davis, Angelia Barnes, Annie Rankins, Sharon Bennett and Nita Hayes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of mass.

Interment will be at Alabama State Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
