MAGNOLIA SPRINGS – The Magnolia Springs Public Library is turning 6, and the board has a party planned and invites everyone to attend.
The library, located at 12440 Magnolia Avenue, Suite 600, will be holding a combined Birthday Bash Celebration and Book Sale on Saturday, Oct 21, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The board and volunteers are already hard at work to organize the event, which will include a Birthday cake, provided refreshments, activities for the little ones, and of course the main event, a large book sale.
Books have already begun to come into the library, being donated to go into the sale. The profits will benefit the Magnolia Springs Public Library, allowing them the funds to purchase a wider selection of titles both in books and DVDs, as well as everyday expenses of keeping the library operational.
Though many books have been brought in, and the library volunteers are busy filling boxes at home to contribute to the sale, they’re hoping to obtain even more before the date of the Birthday Celebration. They ask that anyone who has books that they are willing to donate to the library for the book sale to please drop them by. They will be accepting donated books until closing on Friday, Oct 20. If anyone would like time to go through their personal collection to decide what to donate to the event, the library workers would prefer to receive many of the books during Oct. This will both give those who would like to help time to sort through, organize, and deliver the books, as well as helping with the limited space in the library.
The Library Committee hopes to see everyone on Oct 21, and invites everyone to come out, have a slice of cake, and look around for some new books to purchase. The Birthday Bash is free to attend, and the only fees will be those associated with the purchase of books from the book sale.
