Magnolia Springs promotes Safe Boating Week

The week of May 18 - 24 is National Safe Boating Week, and during the Magnolia Springs April council Holk delivered a proclamation recognizing the importance of safe practices when boating and wearing lifejackets when on the water.

“Over 700 people die each year in boating related accidents in the United States,” said Holk. “Nowadays lifejackets are more comfortable, more attractive, and more wearable than the styles in the past years and deserve a fresh look by today’s boating public … I urge all boaters while on the water to wear a lifejacket and practice safe boating habits, and please encourage other boaters as well as children to watch each other and challenge each other to wear lifejackets for a better tomorrow.”
