Magnolia Springs Public Library’s Summer Reading Program comes to a close

Posted

The Magnolia Springs Public Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Program has ended, and while many participating children were out of town on the date of the ice cream party, the ones who attended had a fantastic time.

The program this year was based on the book The Great Green Turkey Monster by James Flora, during which the scripted monster grows and grows, just as the one in the library did each week. For every book a child read over the summer, a little was added to the “monster’s” body. Reading awards were given after the Fourth of July Parade.
