Officials suspect homicide after man found dead in Foley apartment

FOLEY, Alabama — A Foley man was found dead in his apartment on Tuesday, the victim of an apparent homicide, and authorities with the Foley Police Department and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Crimes Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in the case.

According to a release issued Tuesday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit has been called in to assist the Foley Police Department with an apparent homicide after Ronald Jeffery Higginbotham, 53, was found dead in his apartment by a maintenance employee of the Bay Villa Apartments on South Bay Street in Foley.

The investigation is in its early stages and no additional information is available at this time, according to the release. Law enforcement is asking for assistance from the public.
