ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Robertsdale City Council voted at its Monday, Oct. 7 meeting to accept several roads for maintenance within the city’s limits.

The council passed a resolution on Oct. 7 “authorizing and consenting to the transfer of ownership, maintenance and responsibility” for Styron Lane, which is approximately a quarter-mile in length and is contiguous with the corporate limits of the city.

According to the resolution, the city “agrees to accept and take over from Baldwin county the sole and exclusive ownership, control, management, supervision, regulation, repair, maintenance, improvement and responsibility” for Styron Lane, which is located south of U.S. 90.

The council also voted to take over maintenance on a pair of subdivisions, both constructed in 2016., Nanafield Phase 2, final plat recorded in March of 2016, and Grove Parc, Phase 1, final plat recorded in October of 2016.

Both subdivisions requested that roadway, as well as water and sewer utilities be accepted for maintenance by the city.

“These improvements have been inspected and appear to currently be in good shape,” City Engineer Greg Smith said in letters attached to both requests, “and it is recommended that the roadways, water system and sewer system be accepted by the city of Robertsdale for maintenance.”

In other business Oct. 7, the council:

• Tabled a request for funding for the Rosinton School centennial reunion.

• Approved the purchase of advertising in the Baldwin Salutes magazine from Gulf Coast Media.
