Robertsdale senior adults collecting supplies for Back to School

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Worlds will collide on Wednesday, Aug. 14 when Robertsdale senior adults gather for the monthly Birthday Bash at the George P. Thames Adult Activity Center.

The monthly luncheon includes birthday cake and recognition of all August birthdays, but instead of collecting its normal monetary donations, the center will be celebrating August birthdays by collecting supplies for area school students.

While supplies are already being collected and if you wish, you can drop off donations any time at the center, located at 22651 E. Chicago St. in Robertsdale, participants are asked to bring at least one school supply item to the monthly Birthday Bash.

Accepted items include:

• Wide-ruled notebook paper.

• Primary journal.

• No. 2 pencils.

• Ticonderoga pre-sharpened pencils.

• Three-ring zipper pouch.

• Pencil cap erasers.

• Block erasers.

• Black dry erase markers.
