Summerdale PD reinstates Officer of the Month

Posted

The Summerdale Police Department reinstated its Officer of the Month beginning the month of February. Pictured here: Sergeant Vince Miller presenting Officer Kris Baldner with a certificate for Officer of the Month, making Baldner the first to receive the honor in 2019.

“It’s an overall determination when we choose, but a lot of it has to do with Baldner’s productivity and actions as a patrolman,” said Chief Kevin Brock. “Baldner has a large number as far as statistics go in productivity, and he’s come a long way in his growth as a police officer. So not only is this nomination a compliment to him for what he’s done, it’s also a pat on the back because he’s done a good job.”

For the month of February, Baldner answered 208 calls for service, wrote 72 traffic citations, 20 traffic warnings, made 13 arrests, four possession of marijuana cases, three possession of drug paraphernalia cases, one DUI, and two minor possession of alcohol cases.

“This award shows that we recognize the character of the Officer of the Month, and that we want to show them that we appreciate them and acknowledge all of their hard work,” said Miller. “Let it be recognized that in February 2019 Baldner has gone above and beyond, demonstrating a very impressive display of dedication to duty and professionalism.”
