ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) held its first Baldwin County STAR competition with awards handed out Thursday, March 25 at the South Baldwin Center for Technology’s Culinary Arts Academy in Robertsdale.

Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) events are competitive events in which members compete at region/district, state and national level and are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and career preparation, said Alyssa Corbitt, FACS teacher at Elberta Middle School. Events allow students to compete individually or as a team.
