Fort Mims re-enactment this weekend

The annual Fort Mim’s re-enactment will be held this weekend, Aug. 28-29.
The event is held to remember the hundreds of people who perished on Aug. 30, 1813 when Creek Indians attacked the fort that sat near Tensaw Lake during the Creek Indian War.
Attendees can enjoy crafts and living history from the 1800s. The opening ceremony will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. Re-enactments of the battle will be held both days at 2 p.m.
The event is being sponsored by the Fort Mims Restoration Association.
Fort Mims is located in Tensaw, an unincorporated area in North Baldwin County. To find it travel 12 miles north of Stockton on Highway 59, then west three miles on County Road 80, turn right on Fort Mims Road.
The event is free.
