Summerdale man sentenced to life in 2017 kidnapping case

Investigators still looking for clues in disappearance of Baldwin County man last seen in Elsanor area more than four years ago

BAY MINETTE — A Summerdale man has been sentenced to life in prison in connection with the 2017 disappearance of a Baldwin County man who was last seen in the Elsanor area.

According to a social media release issued Thursday, July 1 by the Baldwin County District Attorney’s office, Judge Scott Taylor imposed the maximum sentence allowed by law for 46-year-old Danial Monroe Clark III’s participation in the 2017 disappearance of Kyle Levins.

Clark was sentenced to life in the Alabama Department of Corrections, according to the release.

“Chief Assistant District Attorney Teresa Heinz and Assistant District Attorney Patrick Brannan would like to thank the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office for all of their hard work in this investigation,” according to the release.

According to a release issued in December of 2017 by Lt. Andre Reid with the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division, 40-year-old Levins was last seen in the Elsanor area of Baldwin County in late May or early June of 2017.

“Based on our investigation to date, foul play is suspected in Kyle’s disappearance,” according to the release.

Baldwin County Corrections Facility online records show that Clark, 46, was booked into the facility in February of 2019 on first degree kidnapping and conspiracy charges.

Levins remains a missing person, according to the release from the DA’s office.

“This case will remain an open investigation until Kyle Levins is located,” according to the release.
