Looking for your next read? You're in luck. The Spanish Fort Public Library is gearing up for its very first book sale on April 8, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Timed to coincide with the eclipse, the event promises more than just books. Attendees will have the opportunity to snag eclipse glasses (available while supplies last) and enjoy designated viewing areas to view the celestial event.

The Solar Eclipse Book Sale will feature a variety of items including books, CDs and DVDs, all attractively priced for eager buyers with special deals throughout the day. Furthermore, new members of the Friends of the Spanish Fort Library will receive a reusable tote bag and can select any five items for just $5.

The Spanish Public Fort Library is set to celebrate its ninth anniversary this fall and offers several services available for patrons such as Homework Help, a collection of resources on their website to help make studying easier for students. In addition to their online resources, the Spanish Fort Public Library hosts fun events such as Dungeons and Dragons Mini-Sessions for Beginners, Family Game Nights, Storytime and much more.

If you've never been, the Solar Eclipse Book Sale on April 8 is a great time to become acquainted with the library, staff, resources, events and more. Plus, with summer approaching, now is the perfect time to begin stocking up on your summer beach reads.

Library Director Shanavia Reed, a new addition to the library, is leading efforts to tailor the library's offerings, particularly focusing on creating a space catering to children where learning and play are encouraged.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Spanish Fort Public Library and 100% funds raised will go to the Friends of the Library for the library programs and events. The generated proceeds aid in bolstering library services and fostering literacy programs throughout the community.

The Spanish Fort Public Library is located at 7361 Spanish Fort Boulevard in Spanish Fort.
