Adrian (Doug) Pierce of Gulf Shores passed away Friday, March 15, 2019.

He was born and raised in south Alabama and then after marrying the love of his life, Phyllis, he served several years in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he worked on a ranch in Wyoming before moving back to Alabama.

He ultimately retired from Bon Secour Fisheries after working there 33 years. He had been a deacon and an active member of Oyster Bay Baptist Church.

He enjoyed traveling and was an avid fisherman who took pleasure in conversing with anyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, who he was married to for almost 64 years; and a son, Darrell.

He is survived by his children, Douglas (Tammy) Pierce, Jackie Mott and Darin (Tracy) Pierce; grandchildren, Madison (Shane) Lirette, Fin Pierce and Jack Pierce; and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, Norman Pierce; a sister, Juanita Bemis; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and his devoted companion, Fancy.

Funeral services will be held from Oyster Bay Baptist Church, Gulf Shores, Alabama, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 4 p.m.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oyster Bay Baptist Church Building Fund, 4820 Plash Road, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
