BCHS wins food drive challenge

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County High School Tigers may have lost the game to St. Paul’s Episcopal School 28-21 on Friday, Sept. 6, but the school won the food drive, besting the Saints.

The PB&J Blitz is sponsored by Synovus Bank and encourages the two competing schools to bring in jars of peanut butter is a good-hearted competition. BCHS students brought in 366 total pounds and St. Paul’s collected 331 pounds for a total of almost 700 pounds.

The school will also receive a $250 prize. All food items will be donated to Feeding the Gulf Coast. Through three weeks of the PB&J Blitz, 1,889 pounds of food has been donated which will help feed more than 15,000 individuals.
