Bernice Black, age 79, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Mrs. Black was a member of First Baptist Church, Elberta, as well as their pianist. She was a graduate of Foley High School, and her career was as a social worker with the state of Florida.
Mrs. Black was preceded in death by a sister, Freida Hozey; and a brother, Charles Koehler.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth A. Black; one son, Kenny E. Black, both of Elberta, Alabama; one granddaughter, Sadie L. Black of Pell City, Alabama; one sister, Dorothy (Bill) Kent of Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Elberta.
Mrs. Black will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Elberta, from 5 until 7 p.m.
Interment will be in Elberta Public Cemetery.
