It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Billy E. Hagan of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, who left us on Aug. 14, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born on April 17, 1931, in Statesboro, Georgia, and lived a life filled with love, dedication and service.

Dr. Hagan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Daniela Hagan; his seven children: Benita and Mark Froemming, David and Pam Hagan, Charlie and Theresa Hagan, Patti and Clark Stewart, Sylvia Hagan, Philip and Anna Hagan, and Will and Drayton Hagan; and his twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dr. Hagan’s impact on his community was immeasurable. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War, a practicing dentist in Baldwin County for over 35-years, a member of the Board of Directors for Region’s Bank, and was very involved with several local businesses during his 63-years as a Baldwin County resident. He was an avid poker and penuckle player throughout his life, spending countless hours alongside his closet friends and colleagues. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service to celebrate Dr. Hagan’s life was held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Magnolia Springs. The visitation began at 10:00am. Family and friends were invited to gather to share stories, memories, and offer condolences. Graveside services was held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, on Friday, August 18th at 11:00am

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Hagan will forever remain in our hearts and memories, a shining light that continues to guide and inspire us. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
