Bonnie Cleaveland Donaldson, age 79, a native of Foley, Alabama, passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019.

She was born in Foley, Alabama to Lyle and Lois Cleaveland on April 10, 1940.

Mrs. Donaldson graduated from Foley High School in 1958, worked at Brookley AFB in Mobile, AL for two years before entering Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where she graduated in 1964 with a BA degree in education.

She taught in Pensacola, Florida before moving to Houston, Texas, where she taught in the Pasadena Independent School District for 29 years.

She received a master's degree from Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. From the University of Texas at Galveston, Texas she was certified to teach special needs children. Later she received a certification as a school counselor, a position she held until retirement.

For the past 17 years, she has served on the board of the South Baldwin Museum Foundation (Holmes Memorial Hospital).

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Fred Cleaveland; and a nephew, Nathan.

Bonnie is survived by her husband , Jim Donaldson; sister, Gay Hassebrock (Bennie); stepsons, John and Randy Donaldson; step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 at 12:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 from 11 a.m. until service time.

Interment will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery.
