Carolyn Miller Plash

Carolyn Miller Plash, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Oct 29, 2020. She was born on March 2, 1930 in Bon Secour, Alabama to John and Annie Miller. She married Buck Plash in 1950 and moved just down the river to Oyster Bay. They were married 64 years, before his death. Carolyn was active in St Peters Episcopal Church and after years of attending Episcopal services in the morning and Baptist services in the evening, eventually became a member of the Oyster Bay Baptist Church. Carolyn worked many years within the Baldwin County School system as a secretary /bookkeeper with Foley Schools until she retired in the early 1990’s. Carolyn loved to serve, whether it was family, church, the school system, the community, or just food in general. Her hands were rarely still. Despite her large family she always made time for everyone and was well loved in her community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Douglas (Buck) Plash, her parents, John W Miller and Annie R (Steiner) Miller, her siblings, William Miller, Lucille Hough, Earl Miller, Arthur Miller, John Miller, and George Miller, and her daughter-in-law Judy (Morrison) Plash. She is survived by three children, Douglas Plash (Jaye) of Foley, Alabama, Floyd Plash (Cherry) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Carolyn Wood (Robbie) of Oyster Bay, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Kristy Stewart (Kirk) of Germantown, Tennessee, Jennifer Boyette (Adam) of Clarkdale, Mississippi, Robert Plash of Omaha, Nebraska, Michael Plash (Elena) of Biloxi, Mississippi, Kevin Plash (Lindsey) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Melissa Knight (Chris) of Fairhope, Alabama, Nathan Wood (Tonnie) of Loxley, Alabama and Zach Wood of Oyster Bay, Alabama; and seven great grandchildren, Addison Boyette, Hannah Boyette, Alexandria Stewart, Shelby Stewart, Ann Douglas Knight, Elijah Wood, and Fuller Knight.
Visitation will be at Oyster Bay Baptist Church from 0930-1100 on Monday, Nov 2 2020. Funeral service will be held at 1100 in the church auditorium. A graveside service will be held immediately after the church service ends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oyster Bay Baptist Church building fund or the charity of your choice.
