Christina Liane Smith, née Wallace, aged 49, a resident of Daphne, passed away on Thursday evening, Aug, 26. Christina’s love and joy energized those around her and was shown through her beautiful, welcoming smile, her wonderful laughter, and her selfless, giving nature. Her love was boundless, extending to family, friends, children and many, many animals. After being awarded her Associate of Science as a Surgical Technician, Christina opted to couple her knowledge with her love of animals, working as a top-notch veterinary technician. From there, she went on to become a freight broker/co-owner of J. P. Transport in Daphne for the last 10 years alongside her husband, Jeston. Christina was not only passionate about animals, but also billiards and motorcycles. She actively competed in local pool leagues and participated in motorcycle clubs. She loved and cherished life, friends, and family. Christina’s home was the gathering place for everyone she knew and who loved her in return. Her wonderful cooking skills were enjoyed by all who were a guest in her home. Lovingly referred to as “Moma,” she ensured that there was always plenty to eat and room for one more at the table. She was always there for those she loved; she was always willing to listen empathetically with a sincere offer to help and provide whatever was needed. Her giving spirit compelled her to tirelessly lead efforts to raise funds for those in need. She was truly a kind and genuine soul. She and her mother, Diane, were kindred spirits and shared a special bond. Christina was devoted to her mother and shared everything with her. She planned to be there for her for the rest of her life. She was proud of their spiritual connection and would share those feelings openly with everyone. Her love of her mother and her husband, Jeston, as well as her whole family, was immense. Christina’s love of God was also clear to all who knew her, evidenced in her thoughts and deeds.

Her favorite Bible verse was I Corinthians 13:4-8. 4 ‘Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.’

She was preceded in death by her father, Truman D. Wallace.

Christina is survived by her husband, Jeston Paul Smith of Daphne; children, Timothy Bryant Shiver of Portland, Ore.; Chaylee Briane Shiver of Daphne; Austin Tyler (Tori) Smith of Atmore; and Alysha Jillian Smith of Summerdale; mother, Vivian Diane Young Henderson and step-father, Robert Eugene Henderson, Jr., of Daphne; sister, Pamela Denise Stephens of Pensacola, Fla.; step-sister, Sarah Elizabeth (Joseph) Peters of Jacksonville, Fla.; 7 and ½ grandchildren; half-brothers, Darrell Wallace and Devin Wallace of Wetumpka; and many other loving relatives and friends.
