Don’t know your candidates? Visit Vote411.org

It’s election season and there is a lot of talking. A lot of boasting. A lot of misinformation being spread on social media.

Want to know the facts about the candidates? There’s an app for that.

The website Vote411.org helps voters across the U.S. learn about their candidates, find their polling place, check their voter registration status, see their local ballot, register to vote and more.

The site was launched by the League of Women Voters in 2006 as a one-stop-shop for election related information. The nonpartisan organization aims to help inform the public and promote voting.

Locally, members of the League of Women Voters of Baldwin County have been uploading information to the site about local candidates. The league sends a list of questions to each candidate to answer and then uploads the answers, verbatim.

Organizers said not all candidates respond. If they do not send answers to the league the candidate’s name will appear but there will be no information listed.
