Jackie Nell Osborn McLeod, 83, a resident of Bon Secour, Alabama, passed away on Fri., Apr. 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Jackie was a graduate of Collinsville High School and received a BA at Auburn University in Foods and Nutrition, Home, and Family Life. In 1982, Jackie founded The Gift Horse Restaurant and Antiques, in Foley, Alabama. For forty plus years she catered countless weddings and served local families and tourists from around the world.  Jackie was the author of “The Gift Horse Restaurant Cookbook.”  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Foley. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Foley Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 142. She traveled extensively with her husband and family.

Jackie is survived by and shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Dr. Kenneth Dean McLeod Sr. of Foley, Alabama; her two daughters, Jerusha Dooley (Michael, COL, USAF) of Niceville, Florida, Meghan McLeod of Bon Secour, Alabama; three sons, Dr. Kish McLeod of Bon Secour, Alabama, Chadward McLeod of Fairhope, Alabama, Tyson McLeod (Joanna) of Bon Secour, Alabama; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her brother Junior Osborn of Springfield, Missouri; one aunt, Barbara Osborn Mackey of Collinsville Alabama; nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dean McLeod; her parents, Nelson, and Frances Osborn; and her sister, Jamie Osborn.

Visitation will be held for friends and family on Sat., Apr. 20, 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm at First Baptist Church of Foley, Alabama. The funeral service will be at 12:00 noon at the church, with interment following immediately at Pine Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Foley, Alabama.
