James (Jim) Anderson McCrory Sr., age 86, a resident of Foley, Alabama, was called to his Heavenly home on Mon., Jan. 9, 2024. James is fondly remembered in life by his wife of 62 years, Judith “Judy” Barnes McCrory, his three children, James “Andy” of Laurel, Mississippi, Norman “Dan” (Sandra) of Fairhope, Alabama and Cynthia (Todd) White of Orange Beach, Alabama, his sister Sadie (Bill) Barnes, as well as his five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, his many wonderful friends, and his dogs Buddy and Mogee. He was born Apr. 6, 1937, in Lake, Mississippi, to the late James D. and Opal Ware McCrory. He graduated from University Military School in Mobile, Alabama, in 1956 and attended Mississippi Southern College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he studied Banking and Finance. James will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and “Pops”. He loved to spend time with his wife, Judy, and his family. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and was always willing to help others. His family would like to extend a very special thank you to Nurse Elizabeth with Centerwell, Joddee with Gentiva Hospice, Jennifer with South Baldwin ER and Bonnie at Robertsdale Rehab for their exceptional care. They would also like to thank all their friends and family for their love and support. Graveside services were held Tues., Jan. 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens of Fairhope, 19250 S. Greeno Rd, Fairhope, AL 36532. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of James A. McCrory, Sr. to The Alabama Sheriff's Boys Ranch, 21870 Co Rd 32, Summerdale, AL. 36580.
