Joey Michael Schaff, age 57, a lifelong resident of Elberta, Alabama, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at Altoona Health and Rehabilitation, Altoona, Alabama, after a long battle with his heart. Best remembered as a shy, sweet, very giving and hardworking person to all that knew him. Employed by Elberta Farmer’s Co-Op for many years.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Schaff, Sr., brother Frank Schaff, sister Elizabeth Schaff Kaiser, brothers George Schaff, Jr., and Larry Schaff.
He is survived by a brother John Schaff (Mary Ann), sisters Kathy Schaff Odom and Helen Schaff Williams (Neal) and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Elberta, Alabama. He will be greatly missed by all. In memory of Joey, donate to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church or Saint Benedict School.
