Joseph Grover Parker Jr.

Joseph Grover Parker Jr., age 84, a native and resident of Foley, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 with family by his side.
Grover was a devoted husband and father. Proverbs 20:7 says, "The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him."
He was married to the love of his life, Bonnie, for 54 years. He always grew a beautiful garden that was admired by many while passing by their home.
He spent many hours with pencil in hand, writing poetry. He was a very hard worker who farmed his land as well as working a full-time job at Monsanto in Pensacola, Florida.
He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Foley, Alabama.
Grover was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie; his parents, Joseph and Gladys; his brother, Willard; and sisters, Loretta, Thelma and Geneva.
He is survived by his five children, Michael, Mark (Mary), Julie (Mike), Mary Lou (Chuck) and Jimmy (Marvette); 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church Cemetery, 601 W. Laurel Ave., Foley, AL on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 9 a.m. for family and friends to honor Grover.
Military honors will be rendered by the U.S Air Force.
