Kenneth “Kenny” Allen Brackin, 70, a resident of Elberta, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21.

Kenny was a 1968 graduate of Foley High School. He retired as plant manager of a geotextile manufacturing company in Evergreen, Ala. Kenny was an avid Alabama fan. Saturdays were spent watching college football, and Sundays were for NASCAR and naps.

He was preceded in death by his father, W. E. Brackin of Foley; brother, Michael “Mike” Brackin of Gulfport, Miss.; sister, Karen B. Murphy of Jacksonville, Fla.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Brackin of Jacksonville, Fla.; wife, Janet Brackin of Elberta; daughters, Charmaine Deviena (Chris) Newton of Santa Barbara, Jillian A. Brackin of Pensacola, Fla.; step-son, Ryan Phillips of Elberta; sister, Ange Brackin of Jacksonville, Fla. and Alexa (Logan) Rawson of Elberta; grandson, Jay Smedley; granddaughters, Miranda Edwards, Reagan Edwards, Danica Stevens, Donnay Stevens, Anya Newton, Emiline Newton, and Brielle Newton; three nephews and three nieces.

Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
