LCDR Ronald Eugene Driesbach, a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Mon., Apr. 8, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Driesbach and his sisters, Phyllis Richards and Linda Carquello.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia and his children, David Driesbach (Lori) of Rock Hill South Carolina, Pamela Norris (Ron) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Karen Palin (Kevin) of Leesburg, Florida, Melissa Lint (Gerry) of Milton, Florida, Susan Simmons (Glynn) of Pace, Florida, Kimberly Linn (Gary) of Sumter, South Carolina, step daughter, Virginia Jones Garner of Mobile, Alabama and many and much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was an honors graduate of Scranton High School class of 1952, and Cum Laude Graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Class of 1982. He served as an enlisted and commissioned officer in the United States Navy for 28 years, at various naval shore duty stations overseas in Hawaii, Japan, Germany, and Turkey as well as at sea aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA 61) and in Maryland, Virginia, and California. He was awarded the Naval Good Conduct medal with stars, National Defense medal with stars, Viet Nam service medal, the Naval Achievement medal, and the Naval Unit commendation medal. He taught all four disciplines to middle school students at the Brown Barge School for Able Learners in Pensacola, Florida prior to his full retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Naval Cryptologist Veteran’s association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fleet Reserve Association, and the Military Officers Association.

Graveside service will be held at the Alabama State Veteran’s Cemetery, Spanish Fort, on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:00 am.  The pallbearers will be grandson’s, M.Sgt. Trevor Bradford, David Anthony Driesbach, Zackary Balistreri, Brad Simmons, Devon Simmons, and Max Lint.
