Louisiana diver drowns at The Wharf in Orange Beach

A Louisiana diver reportedly drowned at The Wharf on Saturday, April 20, per Investigative Division Lt. Trent Johnson's Monday press release.

Orange Beach Police states that it received a call to 4851 Wharf Parkway at The Wharf Marina around 1 p.m. that Saturday regarding an out-of-state diver who was previously identified cleaning underneath his boat yet hadn't been seen for hours.

Officers were soon able to confirm that the diver entered water at roughly 7:30 a.m. and never resurfaced. With multiple dive teams called to action, the body was later recovered that evening and released to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy.

OBPD investigators do not anticipate the discovery of any foul play, according to the statement.
