Mabel Elizabeth “Betty” Thomas, age 89, a resident of Foley passed away Monday, June 28, 2021.
Betty was a graduate of Foley High School and life-long member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley. Preceded in death by her parents; Karl and Eleanor Stockes, husbands; Curtis Cowart and Abbot Thomas, sons; Billy Cowart and David Cowart, brother; Joe “Butch” Stockes.
She is survived by her daughter; Judy Hamburg of Foley, sons; Keith (Terry) Cowart of Sylacauga, Ala., Al (Diedre) Cowart of Elberta, as well as sisters; Nellie Topp, Karla Harmon both of Foley. She was a proud grandmother of Kris (Jeanne) Cowart, Lauren Cowart, Jon (Tatiana) Cowart, Ben (Michelle) Cowart, Will Cowart and JC (Katelyn) Hamburg, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Foley, Tuesday July 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley.
