Mrs. Loui Utsey Saunders, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Tue., Jan. 2, 2024, at the age of 89. She was a Registered Nurse for over 50 years. She worked at Providence Hospital for 13 years and worked with Drs. McDuff and Griffin. She was a member of Daphne United Methodist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Peyton Saunders; son, George Mitchell; grandson, Matthew Mitchell; sisters, Ruth, Vivian, Jackie and Vera, and brothers, Mack, Joe, W.J. Ray, and Frank.
She is survived by her daughter, Missy Saunders Fairhope; sons, Mike Mitchell of Fairhope, and John (Kandi) Mitchell of Butler, Alabama; sister, Barbara (Jack) Stevens of Theodore; grandchildren, Jennifer Mitchell, Jeremy (Jessica) Mitchell; four great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sat., Jan. 6, 2024, at 10:00 am in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Visitation began at 9:00 am. Interment followed funeral services in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
