Orange Beach Fire Station 4 welcomes new engine

Posted

Orange Beach Fire Station 4 located on Ono Island welcomed the new Fire Engine 4 with a blessing and push-in ceremony March 22.

Fire Chief Mike Kimmerling and several city officials spoke before Capt. Jeremy Lewis of Fire Station 4 sprayed down the new engine with water. Pastor Fred Franks delivered the blessing before the crew pushed the truck into the station.

Ono Island is located outside of the city limits and outside of the Orange Beach Fire Department service area. For this reason, Ono Island and the City of Orange Beach have a fire and emergency services agreement. As part of the agreement, the city purchased the new engine and equipment for approximately $550,000. Ono Island is repaying the cost over 10 years.
