After the third-ranked swimming prospect in her class logged her third double gold at the state meet, Fairhope senior Lena Amare added a Seacrest Furniture Athlete of the Week honor to her trophy case.

Amare recently competed in her sixth consecutive state championship and earned her third pair of gold medals with victories in the 100-yard free and 200-yard individual medley Saturday at Auburn. With double gold in the 100- and 200-yard free in 2022 and 2021, Amare finished her Pirate swimming career as the three-time defending champion in the 100-yard freestyle and added a silver medal as a member of the 400-yard free relay in 2019.
