The 49th Annual National Shrimp Festival offers its very own version of the golden ticket to Hollywood – the Singing for Scholarships competition.

Each fall the annual sing-off is held on the National Shrimp Festival stage to give students from high schools throughout Baldwin County a chance to steal the show with their amazing vocal talent.

The students progress through a series of elimination rounds and scholarships are awarded to the top three contestants. Local celebrities act as judges.

This year’s competition will be held Saturday, Oct. 9 on the Main Stage. Come listen and be inspired!

Prizes are $1,000 for first, $500 for second and $250 for third. The program gives a matching donation to the winning students’ schools.

One contestant from each high school in Baldwin County will be allowed to represent that school. City schools, virtual schools, homeschool students and past winners are eligible. Participants must currently be enrolled in ninth through twelfth grade.

For more information or to submit your entry email shrimpfestivalSFS@gmail.com Deadline to enter is Sept 17 or until all spaces are filled.
