Tweed Childress, age 90, a life-long resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Childress; parents, Lewis and Ellen Childress; brothers, John Rix, and Fuller Childress.
Tweed is survived by his children, Libby Chavous, John Eric Childress (Patti), Darryl Childress, and Marie Childress; grandchildren, Samantha Newsome, Shauna Chavous, John Colby Childress, Billy David Chavous, Bailey Childress; two great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd Childress (Pamela); sisters, Jenette Whisnet, Catherine Little, Lois Layton; longtime companion, Juanita Mena; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for family and friends was held Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Alabama.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Barnwell Baptist Church. Interment followed funeral service at Brook-Cedron Cemetery.
