Due to severe weather threats in the area this weekend, the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber has postponed their E-Cycling and Shred Day to Saturday, Jan. 18, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Gulf State Park Pavilion.

“This event normally runs rain or shine and this is the first time we've had to postpone it," said Steve Jones, Coastal Alabama Business Chamber vice president of events, "With the severe weather threats set to come in, we want to put the safety of our volunteers and attendees first."

Except for the date change, all other aspects of the event will remain the same.

Individuals can bring any of their personal paper documents (tax information and returns, bank statements, canceled checks, paycheck stubs, ATM Receipts, credit card statements, utility bills or any documents containing personally identifiable information) to be shredded.

Each vehicle is limited to 50 pounds. Small paper clips do not need to be removed and attendees are asked to not tape or tie the bags or boxes.

Attendees may also bring any electronic items (televisions, computers, vacuums, printers, VCRs, power tools, etc.) they may have that need to be disposed of. No batteries please.

This annual tradition is put together in partnership with the Chamber, cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, the Gulf State Park, and is sponsored by Riviera Utilities and Baldwin County Sewer Service.
