The City of Orange Beach Friends and Family Relay for Life Team will host the Full Moon Paddle Sunday, Aug. 22 at the Wind and Water Learning Center on Wolf Bay. All funds raised benefit the American Cancer Society-Relay for Life effort.

Dinner will be provided at 6:15 p.m. by Luna’s Eat & Drink. Entertainment will be provided by musician Austin Thompson. The paddle will follow dinner from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Each participant must bring their own kayak, personal flotation device and white light (headlamps work best). Participants are encouraged to wear lifejackets. Paddling experience is necessary for this event which will cover 3 to 5 miles depending on conditions. It is not an event for beginners or young children.

Participants must register before the event. The registration fee is $25 per person. To register, participants can visit any recreating facility in Orange Beach or register online at Eventbrite. For more information, contact team captain Jeanne Fitzgibbons at 251-981-1524 or at jfitz@orangebeachal.gov.

The Wind and Water Learning Center is located at 26267 Canal Road behind the Orange Beach Public Library.
