Gulf Shores Police Department announced the selection of officer Chris Miller as Officer of the Month of May 2021.

Miller serves as the Gulf Shores Police field training coordinator and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division on Delta Squad. He was selected for his quick and lifesaving actions on a medical call May 9.

Miller was the first to arrive at a cardiac arrest call on West 3rd Street. Once on the scene, he encountered a man that was unconscious and not breathing. He immediately initiated lifesaving measures and began CPR. He quickly directed another responding officer to his location and continued CPR until paramedics arrived. Paramedics were able to obtain a pulse and stabilize the man for transport. Miller’s calm and crucial actions were of the caliber that all members of law enforcement should aspire to.

In addition to this lifesaving event, Miller also made two felony arrests in May and recovered over $1,000 in stolen merchandise.
