North Baldwin man shot in apparent domestic incident

BOONVILLE, Alabama -- A Baldwin County man is in critical condition after being shot in the chest during an apparent domestic incident in the Boonville community of North Baldwin County.

According to a release issued Tuesday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s office, deputies and medical units responded to the shooting Sunday, Jan. 17 on Sims Road, located north of Atmore near the Little River community of North Baldwin County.

The male victim was transported by Life Flight to a hospital in Pensacola, according to the release, and is in critical condition while receiving treatment.

According to the release, investigators believe the victim was shot by another family member during a domestic violence event. Several shots were fired during the incident.

No charges have been filed at this time and the case is currently under investigation.
