Operation Round Up Presents Grants to Local Charities

Posted

The Baldwin County Electric Membership Charitable Foundation presented grants to six local agencies during the first half of 2021. These grants were made possible through Baldwin EMC’s Operation Round Up program, which collects money for charitable causes by rounding up participating members’ electric bills to the next highest dollar amount, with the extra change used to fund grants. Grants must meet one of six qualifying categories: food, clothing, shelter, health, environment and education.

Grants were presented to the following organizations:

• Youth Reach Gulf Coast, a Christ-centered home offering a ministry designed to remold the values and turn around the lives of at-risk young men, ages 18-22.

• Baldwin County Sheriff’s Boys Ranch, which offers housing for abused, neglected or otherwise at-risk young men.

• The Shoulder, a Christian-based treatment center for individuals affected by alcohol/drug abuse and their families.

• The Robertsdale Rotary Club for their efforts in support of Camp ASCCA and RYLA Camp.

• United Way of Baldwin County, which provides support to 30 nonprofit health and human service agencies in Baldwin County.

• Alabama Credit Union Foundation, for its Secret Meals for Hungry Children project.

Baldwin EMC is a member-owned electric cooperative serving more than 81,000 accounts in Baldwin and Monroe Counties in southwest Alabama, including Alabama’s Gulf Coast. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
