Orange Beach man charged in sexual assault case

Orange Beach resident Dylan Bay Burnett, 21, was taken into custody May 25 by the Gulf Shores Police Department in connection with a sexual assault case of a juvenile. Detectives began investigating after a juvenile victim reported the incident to school administrators. The victim was five-years-old at the time of incident.

Burnett has been charged with one count of sodomy in the first degree, attempted sodomy in the first degree and sexual assault of a child under 12. He is being held in the Gulf Shores City Jail pending transfer to the Baldwin County Jail.

The Gulf Shores Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Orange Beach Police Department and the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
