SPANISH FORT, Ala. - At the Eastern Shore Bowling Center in Spanish Fort the Warriors won their first game of the series to advance to the State playoffs. They played and won a second game to compete for top spot in the Southern Region. They ended the day as second in the region.
The team is a very unique varsity team (because of the way Elberta High has grown into a high school for the past four years) having three out of the six players being eighth graders. This is only the schools second year offering bowling with coach Zachary Wenzel.
The team is headed to the state tournament in Pelham. They will leave at Wednesday at 9:40 a.m. with a pep-rally like send off with the band, cheerleaders, and all students EMS and EHS attending.
This highlight was tweeted Jan. 26: This week's AHSAA Athlete of the Week (@cocacolaunited) was Elberta High’s Harris Dunlavy who rolled a 223 traditional round in the semis. He also finished with the top traditional series (three games) with a 502 total.
