Foley man dies in three-vehicle accident

FOLEY — A Foley man died Monday morning, Oct. 25, in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 98 within the Foley city limits.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash, which occurred at 7:15 a.m. Monday at the 67-mile marker of U.S. 98, according to a release issued Tuesday by the ALEA.

According to the release, 48-year-old Fernando Garza-Monroy was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2007 Dodge Caravan he was driving was reportedly struck from behind by a 1999 International truck driven by Michael Jerome Brzozowski, 32, of Elberta.

Garza-Monroy’s vehicle then reportedly struck a 2017 Lexus driven by Kimberly Renee Fountain, 42, of Pensacola, Florida.

No other injuries were reported.
