Homecoming festivities wrap up with parade, game and dance

King and Queen to be crowned in separate ceremonies on Friday

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Robertsdale High School will wrap up a week of festivities with the Homecoming Parade on Thursday, crowning of the King and Queen and the Homecoming game on Friday and the Homecoming Dance on Saturday.

“Arabian Nights” is the theme for this year’s Homecoming and students celebrated with daily dress-up days which followed a Disney theme.

A luau will highlight “Ohana” Wednesday and students can dress in their PJs for “Sleeping Beauty Thursday.”

Floats will line up behind in the teacher parking lot at 3:15 for the annual Homecoming Parade, which is set to begin at 3:45.

Best class float will be awarded based on creativity, school spirit, quality of construction and enthusiasm.

Friday is Spirit of Disney Day. You can dress as your favorite Disney character or in RHS spirit gear.

The Homecoming Court will be presented during the pep rally and the king will be crowned.

The king will be crowned from a group of nine seniors, including Carson Beasley, Luke Bezeredi, Isaac Godfrey, Cody Green, Alex Robinson, Tristian Stevens, Zane Sullivan, Logan A. Wilson and Tyler Wood.

The queen will be crowned during halftime as the Golden Bears take on 6A Region 1 foe, the B.C. Rain Raiders, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at J.D. Sellars Stadium on the campus of Robertsdale Elementary School.

This year’s Homecoming court includes freshmen Sami Hall, Maddison Pouncey, Reese Skipper; sophomores Emily Kalifa, Abby Larkin, Ali McDaniel; and juniors Caylyn Campbell, Kadence Clemmons and Maddie Cooper.

The Homecoming Queen will be selected from a group of nine seniors, including Ashely Campos, Amanda Franklin, Caroline Lipscomb, Camryn Lowery, Maggie Moore, Anna Rose Racine, Kelly Rogers, Emma Spears and Andy Taylor.

The annual Homecoming Dance will be held from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Baldwin County Coliseum, 19477 Fairground Road.
