John Thomas Cobb (Johnny – J.T. - John) passed away peacefully March 7, 2021 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin DeWitt (BD) and Lona Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Cobb; his daughter, Celeste Spillers (Danny); his son, Stephen Cobb (Torry); his grandchildren Amanda Summers, Ben Spillers (Mariah), Sam Spillers (Carly), Heather Ritson (Aron), Kimberly Spillers, Alexander Cobb, and Anneliese Cobb; his great-grandchildren Darcy Summers and Judson Spillers. He is also survived by his two sisters: Glenda Faison and JaNay Dawson (Howard), along with many nieces and nephews. John graduated from the University of Maine in 1973 and later Troy University. After serving in the United States Navy for ten years, he and his family moved from Maine back home to Foley. John was principal of Elberta Middle School for 20 years. John had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed performing at the South Baldwin Community Theatre and singing with the Barbershop Quartet. He served on the City of Foley Museum Board and other educational committees. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in John Cobb’s name to the South Baldwin Educational Fund at P.O. Box 1600, Foley, AL 36536.
