Magnolia Springs man facing child porn charges

MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Alabama — A Magnolia Springs man is facing three counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depictions of a person under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts.

According to a release issued Thursday, April 1 by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Command, Gerald Akridge, 32, of Magnolia Springs was Wednesday, March 31 by BCSO investigators and investigators with the Department of Homeland Security.

According to jail records, he was booked Thursday into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility on three counts of possession of obscene matter and theft of property, third degree. He is being held without bond.

These charges stem from an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation that began in February of 2021, according to the release.

At the time of Akridge’s arrest, a search warrant was executed at his residence on Old Marlow Road in Magnolia Springs. Numerous electronic device and digital media were seized.
