St. Benedict Catholic School (SBCS) has been educating the youth of Baldwin County since it opened its doors on Sept. 6, 1921. Sixty children attended that first year in 1st – 8th grade, learning reading, math, religion and German. School was dismissed in early May to allow the children to work the farms.

One hundred years later, St. Benedict Catholic School is proud to be celebrating its centennial class as they get ready for their next adventure – high school. SBCS Principal, Dr. Kathy McCool, could not be prouder of the students. “Like all of us, this class of eighth graders had to work extra hard to get through the last year, and I know God has great things planned for them. Everyone at St. Benedict wishes them the best of luck on their promotion to high school!”

The class of 18 eighth graders are headed to some of the best high schools across Baldwin County including St. Michael Catholic School and the International Baccalaureate Program at Fairhope High School.

“As a parent, I loved every minute of our time at St. Benedict Catholic School. Not only did my child love going to school every day, but I know she is going to high school as prepared as possible,” said Elizabeth Wood.

St. Benedict Catholic School is currently enrolling students for PK3 – 8th grade for the 2021-2022 school year. For more information, you can visit SaintBenedict.net or email the school registrar at rkrehling@saintbenedict.net.
