Mark your calendars and start stretching. Registration for the 41st Alabama State Games opens on March 1.

For the past 40 years, the Alabama State Games has featured multiple sports and annual participation ranging from 3,200 to 5,000. Based on that success and new relationships, the 41st-annual Alabama State Games aims to have participants from all of the state’s 67 counties.

“Our new slate of games is exciting and features a tremendous mixture of individual and team sports,” said Laura Creel Burt, Executive Director. “We had so many participants for the 40th-Anniversary Alabama State Games in 2023. I’m excited to see that number grow and surpass last year. We intentionally strive to keep registration fees low to make the Alabama State Games accessible to athletes of all ages from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Having even more participants walk through our Parade of Athletes would be wonderful; more so would be seeing all 67 counties represented.”

Sport is a vehicle the Alabama State Games uses to promote academic success, healthy lifestyles and good citizenship.

The ASF Foundation — the parent organization of the Alabama State Games — began a scholarship initiative that has since awarded $363,000 in academic scholarships. During 2023’s 40th-anniversary Alabama State Games, $20,000 in scholarships were awarded.

Look for that amount, or more, to be given away in 2024. To be awarded an Academic Scholarship, athletes must register for the 41st Alabama State Games and attend the State Farm Athlete Leadership Summit and the Opening Ceremony on June 7 inside Legacy Arena at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Complex.

In his honor, the event bears his competition name and will be held at Aultman’s home gym - the Ninja Obstacle Academy - in Huntsville.
