MOBILE — After the dust settled on the traditional bowling rounds on Thursday at Bowlero Mobile, three local teams find themselves in the bottom of Friday’s Baker format best-of-7 series championship bracket.

The girls’ championship got things started Thursday morning where the Orange Beach Makos earned the No. 7 seed in the Class 1A-5A bracket. Sadie Rose was Orange Beach’s top individual bowler with a three-game score of 454 for 18th overall.

The Makos will draw second-seeded Scottsboro when bowling starts at 8 a.m. on Friday.

The boys’ championship had the top two teams from the South Regional, Gulf Shores and Elberta, and they finished consecutively in fifth and sixth during Thursday’s traditional rounds.

Rylan Stefankiewicz was the Dolphins’ top individual bowler with a three-game total of 500 for 16th overall. Aiden Freemantle, the South Regional’s Most Outstanding Bowler, represented the Warriors in 19th overall with a total score of 488.

No. 5 Gulf Shores draws No. 4 John Carroll Catholic and No. 6 Elberta will square off against No. 3 East Limestone with bowling scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
