Children’s & Women’s Hospital NICU parents receive one-of-a-kind holiday keepsakes

Posted

Staff members at USA Health's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) dedicated time this month to craft holiday keepsakes for the parents of the smallest patients at Children’s & Women’s Hospital.

A cherished choice among parents includes cards adorned with miniature mouse imprints, delicately created by gently pressing a baby’s foot onto thick paper.

This unique artwork is part of an ongoing initiative led by specially trained nurses and other NICU providers. The aim is to bring a touch of normalcy to the lives of parents caring for severely premature infants. Recognizing the heightened stress during the holidays for parents with infants in the hospital, NICU residents and their families are actively engaged in various activities to brighten the season.
