Downtown OWA expands with 3 new businesses

Pet shop, English pub, real estate office join admission-free district

Here they grow again.

OWA Parks & Resort recently announced the addition of three new businesses to Downtown OWA, the admission-free area that offers visitors opportunities for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Pet owners will delight in the opportunity to spoil their pooch at Fluffy's Pet Shop. The store offers a wide variety of treats, leashes, pet beds, grooming tools and stylish accessories for fashionista pets. The store prides itself on its selection of products that use quality ingredients that are free of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives and packaged sustainably.

Every town needs a pub and Towne Tap is filling that void. The quintessential English pub offers a unique and interactive drinking experience with the pour-your-own beer system. Patrons have a selection of craft beers and ales and a full menu of British and American fare. Stop in for some fish and chips and a pint after a long day at the park.

The last new business to make its home in Downtown OWA is Jason Will Real Estate.

"We were looking for an opportunity to consolidate our two centers in Baldwin County into one powerhouse location," Jason Will said in a press release. "When the opportunity arose to be the sole real estate office at OWA, we jumped at the chance as it gave us high visibility, high foot traffic and a super fun location for our agents to call home."

OWA Parks & Resort has been adding amenities and attractions to the property. The Tropic Falls indoor water park opened in June 2022, and the outdoor wave pool opened to guests in March of this year. In September, the Tropic Hideaway RV Resort opened to guests.

Along with the park-centered facilities that have opened over the past year, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, owners of OWA Parks & Resort, broke ground on an $18 million seasonal workforce campus in Foley. The city of Foley and Holtz Companies have teamed up with the Porch Band of Creek Indians on this project, which will provide much-needed affordable and safe housing for international students participating in the U.S. Summer Work Travel program (J-1 Visa), H2B Visa program and others. The first phase of the project is underway and expected to be completed in the spring of 2024 and will provide beds for 300.
