FAIRHOPE — The City of Fairhope recently announced the addition of six pickleball courts at Quail Creek Golf Course.

The newly constructed courts are made for pickleball enthusiasts of all levels.
“I am excited to offer another recreational program for residents of Fairhope,” Mayor Sherry Sullivan said.

Sullivan added there are other pickleball courts in Fairhope, but to have additional courts will benefit the community.

Sullivan's office affirmed that, at present, there are no court lights available for late-night play. However, she confirmed the possibility of lights in the future. The objective is to enable the public to enjoy games and activities even after sunset.

Open to the public, rules for play include first come, first serve; play time is limited to one hour and 15 minutes; proper attire must be worn; patrons assume all risk of injury, damage or loss; when courts are filled, limit play time to 45 minutes and exit the court immediately after your game.

The pickleball courts will be open to the public from daylight until dawn.

When visiting these courts, individuals must prohibit from drinking alcohol, profanity or yelling, glass containers, pets, music, smoking cigarettes, vaping or the use of tobacco products, climbing or leaning on fences and riding bicycles, scooters skates and skateboards.
